| Wednesday marked the close of another exceptional Banff World Television Festival, with more than 1,450 delegates in attendance, and a combined 1,700 delegates taking in both the television festival and its sister-event, nextMEDIA—The Future of Digital Content. With jam-packed panel and session rooms and a whirl of special events, the Festival generated the signing and green-lighting of new deals, as well as the opportunity for delegates to turn their project ideas into reality. Martin Scorsese’s "No Direction Home: Bob Dylan" Grand Prize Winner

| Martin Scorsese’s film, “No Direction Home: Bob Dylan” took home the Grand Prize tonight at the Banff World Television Awards. The “NHK President’s Prize” which recognizes excellence in the HDTV industry, was handed out to "Queen of Trees,” while "Y in Vyborg" and "The Rise and Fall of the Russian Oligarchs” also took home coveted Rockie Awards as the two winners of the Special Jury Prizes. With the largest number of entries submitted over the past five years, awards were handed out in a variety of categories—with 15 different countries taking home the honours. |
